Good morning, friends!! It’s a perfectly lovely cold morning here. Sub-40s temps are here again, hurrah! And as I walked into work building, I could hear all the birds chirping overhead, most likely chatting about the weather in confused fashion. It definitely has been a bit schizo lately. But I’m happy because it is turtleneck weather (and yes I’m wearing one right now) and I have my peppermint mocha and a beautiful week is ahead. This is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it.
As I drove in, was listening to the end of Tears of Nienna – I forgot how much I love that mix. I also forgot how melancholy and beautiful it is. Liability (Lorde) – what a song. Hopefully I can one day write poetry and lyrics that make me feel as deeply. (Which is obviously why I do like writing…expressing feelings that can only be expressed in the written word…) Hearing sweetly tragic music echoes the sometimes longings of my heart and it is oddly a comfort to hear such music, music that finds a resonance with my spirit. Although Nienna in general is a bit sad (the last stretch is just full of aching pathos!), it ends with that piano playing “In Christ Alone” and my hope soars. My soul sings.
