What Shall We Call Our Sweetest Regrets?

It’s a lovely morning…cold once again – oh long may it last! 48 degrees as I drove to Starbucks and picked up my peppermint mocha. What a gorgeous mid-March morning. And honestly this whole weekend has been delightful! Quick recap. Joe came over and hung out with John and I on Friday night. We watched Aquaman (which of course I saw in cinema with Marina back in December!) and I made lots of burritos. Proper Friday night, that. Saturday morning, got breakfast with Earnie and Joe and Brian…then home to get stuff done (like taxes and laundry yay?). Then fun times at movies – Captain Marvel with John, Jared, Julie and others. Following that, because it really was such a beautiful day…disc golf at the park! I didn’t play super well, but oh well. Still fun being with people. Then a walk around the neighborhood by myself, thinking poetic thoughts and pondering my hopes and dreams. Yesterday after church and prep for community group (James chapter 1 this week…why should we rejoice in the face of trials and tribulations!?), decided I could not stay inside and so walked down to Boomtown. On the way, got distracted by Haley & Fran & Caroline who were all hanging out at EQ. Talked with them for a bit…on various things, mostly how guys are weird and dating is hard!…and then eventually continued my walk. Had a nice long chat with Maryanne – we hadn’t talked in forever!! I ended up grabbing a coffee at Boomtown and sitting outside for a while as Maryanne and I continued to talk. Eventually walked home and had some dinner and hung out with John watching the latest Brooklyn 99 episode (definitely not as good as the early ones…as is the way with most shows). Thus was my weekend. Blessed by God indeed. And despite the way my thoughts love to whirl and roam, my heart is at rest this deliciously cold morning. Peace and love, dear friends.
