And I saw heaven opened, and
behold, a white horse, and He who sat
on it is called Faithful and True, and
in righteousness He judges and wages
war. His eyes are a flame of fire,
and on His head are many diadems;
and He has a name written on Him
which no one knows except Himself.
He is clothed with a robe dipped in
blood, and His name is called The
Word of God. And the armies which
are in heaven, clothed in fine linen,
white and clean, were following Him
on white horses. From His mouth
comes a sharp sword, so that with it He
may strike down the nations, and He
will rule them with a rod of iron; and
He treads the wine press of the fierce
wrath of God, the Almighty. And on
His robe and on His thigh He has a
name written, “KING OF KINGS,
AND LORD OF LORDS.”

-Revelation 19:11-16

I was walking to the gym after work today and a storm was coming. As I walked, I was singing to myself a song from my church in Tampa, a song directly from the verses I quoted above…and as I got to the part, “His name is called The Word of God…”, at that very moment, lightning flashed down in every direction around me…and the thunder built to a glorious crescendo, punctuating the beauty of the storm. I stood struck with awe. And I was reminded(why do we forget!!) of the power and righteousness and mercy and perfection and glory and holiness and love and justice and compassion of the Almighty.

How great is the LORD!!!!

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being. In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men. The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it. -John 1:1-5

How can you read that and NOT be blown away…well, I was just hammered by the truth and utter awesomeness of those few verses…despite all the lies and craziness and deceit and injustice and selfishness and arrogance and hatred that go on in this world…there is truth – there is the Word. And what a comfort that is!!!!

“Now my soul has become troubled; and what shall I say, ‘Father, save Me from this hour’? But for this purpose I came to this hour. Father, glorify Your name.” Then a voice came out of heaven: “I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again.”
-John 12:27-28

How amazing is that!!! Father, glorify Your name indeed!!!

Holy, holy, holy is the LORD God, the Almighty, Who was and Who is and Who is to come…Worthy are You, our Lord and our God to receive glory and honor and power; for You created all things, and because of Your will they existed and were created. – Revelation 4:8,11

I am so amazingly and incredibly blessed! I’ve had an excellent weekend all in all, but tonight really tops it off. I don’t think I can even really describe it in words, but was at prayer and praise tonight at church…and it was just heavenly. Truly, worshiping God through prayer is an amazing thing!! I prayed with Shari and Deanna for a while and all I can say is that God is so good. So good to allow us to pray to Him(and He answers!!) and so good for the friends and encouragement He gives to us. I wish I could find better words to express myself. I can’t. All I can say is that my heart overflows with gratitude for the goodness of the Lord!

Let the name of God be blessed forever and ever,
For wisdom and power belong to Him.
It is He who changes the times and the epochs;
He removes kings and establishes kings;
He gives wisdom to wise men
and knowledge to men of understanding.
It is He who reveals the profound and hidden things;
He knows what is in the darkness,
and the light dwells with Him.
To You, O God of my fathers,
I give thanks and praise,
For You have given me wisdom and power.

-Daniel 2:20-23

I have quite a nasty headache right now and still feel like I’m in a peculiar mood…but…I rest in the Lord.
