Perseverance of the Saints

Morning, friends!!  I shan’t stay long on the computer now…but I sit here at Starbucks after having enjoyed my espresso and I realised that I’m a bit behind in sharing my music mixes!  So figured I’d catch up (a little bit – still 2 more after this to record!) and share one I made back before Christmas last year.  This morning though…it was simply fantastic to sleep in!  Then enjoyed my breakfast of coffee and sausages as I watched the French Open final…Simona Halep of Romania won…very deservedly so and I was quite happy to see her win her first Slam!!  Tomorrow won’t be able to watch the men’s final since I’ll be at church….but go Rafa!  King of Clay.  Shooting for French Open title..11 I think?  Ridiculous.  My fav men’s tennis player of all time, simply for his determination and craft and fiery passion for the game!!

Now…I did mean to share this music mix did I not??  This mix is a bit weird…reflective of me, of course.  I’ve long been wanting to do another dance CD – and I’ve been extremely happy with how this one turned out.  It’s actually been in my car music rotation ever since I burned it, which is very much indicative of my love for this music.  Is it weird crazy discotheque-esqe music?  Absolutely yes.  And sometimes…it’s fun to just enjoy the beat of some quality dance tunes, despite the quality(or lack thereof!) of the lyrics!!  So don’t take this mix as a thing of pure light and purer beauty….but just for the silly fun club music it is.  With these many disclaimers aside….let me present…Club West:

Good morning! I thought that – shockingly – I’d post another quick entry while I’m here at Beans. Enjoying my mocha and apple bread right now, as I also keep track of current French Open women’s final(Sharapova’s up 3-2 in final set…go Maria!!). Read a few sweet Psalms already…only planned to read two, then I read another by accident. Oops. But I like Psalm 147 a lot, so I can just read it tomorrow too! Soon I really need to start prepping for community group on Tuesday(John 11!! One of my fav chapters), but for now, I’m just enjoying a calm and restful Saturday morning.

This afternoon, plan on going to Chase’s place for some Spades action(with Donnie and Sarah – we should have some epic games!) and later on, probably going to do some errands and then some more planning for Boston weekend with sisters. Less than two weeks away!!

Now, back to enjoying my morning coffee. Peace, my friends – have a glorious Saturday!!

A shield and bulwark

So enjoying a gloriously bright Saturday morning! Sipping on my coffee and crunching on my bacon and reading truth. Can it get much better? I submit that it cannot!!

And while I’m a bit sleepy today(a nap this afternoon is definitely called for)…it was so worth it to have amazing times chilling with Anna and Steven last night…another random shopping adventure, another late night dinner, another movie, another sweet time driving down Union St. together…soaking in sweet music in the beauty of the night. They’re soon to go away back to Hungary and Germany, respectively. And this makes me sad. And I try not to think about it.

Moving away from that…today going to Tineke’s 21st birthday tea(apparently me and Graham are going to be practically the only males there. Hm.) and then will try and catch the women’s Wimbledon final. Seriously, I’m so psyched for these finals today and tomorrow. Both of my favorite players are playing…I think for the first time ever!! Maria Sharapova(versus Kvitova) and Nadal(versus Djokovic). Epic. Can’t wait for today’s match – go Maria!!!

But enough tennis.

Now, I want to get back to reading.
