I was gonna do a “end of the year survey” but got bored with it…so no survey for you.

Anyways, it’s so awesome to be home. No worries about classes, no work for school…just no stress in general, which is always a wonderful thing. I got my grades and GPA a few days ago, which was a little disappointing(for me), but eh. In case you want to see:

Physics: B
Physics Lab: B+
Chemistry: A
Chemistry Lab: B+
Calculus III: B+
International Relations: A
Intro to Engineering: A
My GPA is 3.62 right now, which is a lot lower than I’d like.
I feel ok about school, though, mainly because now I’m used to the routine and know how I need to study for next semester. Next semester will be crazily filled with studying, but hey..that’s what I’m going to college for, so that’s what I’ll do.

Off the topic of school, has been a pretty awesome week so far. Last week was just full of being lazy and enjoying home life once again…wow, I missed my mom’s cooking. Sunday, a bunch of people from my church went Christmas-caroling through a couple of different nursing homes…it was so joyous, singing to all these people…especially when they smiled and sang along. I do love Christmas songs. If I had my way, they’d be sung all year round.

Christmas is only three days away! I can’t wait for it…always such a happy time of year. Actually this whole season is so much fun. In a few minutes, I’m going to do some work(i.e. leave-raking) for a neighbor, and tomorrow and Saturday will be working at Wright’s Gourmet..even though I won’t get to relax, at least I’ll be getting paid. Anyways, need to eat and then run to work…

Yummy macaroni and cheese…I love my dad for making me some!! 🙂

Today was a pretty awesome day. Got to sleep in late, and then hung out with Rob(from my bible study group) for a while…we tossed the football around for a while, then went trekking through a bunch of trails by Lake Alice. I love hiking so much – me and Rob were talking about hiking part of the Appalachian trail in a few years, which will rock hardcore.

Got back to my dorm for some studying for my final exam. It shouldn’t be that hard, but studying always helps! Tomorrow, gonna take the exam at 7:30, then head back to Tampa around 10:30 or so. No thinking about school for a while…bliss.

Now, back to studying.

Well, 2 exams down, two to go. I’m so happy calculus and chem are finally done…such a relief to see the books sitting on my dresser and know I don’t have to worry about reading them anymore. I aced the final calc exam, giving me a B+ for the class. And this morning, only missed 3 questions on the chem final, so got an A for the class! God is good. I’m most worried about physics though…I can only miss 1 or 2 questions to get an A..so I’m going to be studying like crazy.

Can’t wait ’til finals are all over so I can go home and really get into the Christmas spirit…this Wednesday, I’ll be back in Tampa!

Happy Thanksgiving, one and all!!

Had an awesome day today – just relaxing with my family, eating, football, and more eating(turkey, potatoes, asparagus, dressing, black olives, green olives, cherry pie, pumpkin pie, peach pie…mmm..)

Tomorrow will be a day of more relaxing! Most likely will not be braving the shopping scene…will be a bloody day out there.

I’m so thankful for all of God’s wonderful blessings, including you my amazing friends…it brings warm feelings into my heart knowing I have friends like you.

Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving!!!

Tomorrow I’ll be in Tampa!

And Saturday, I’ll be at the UF/FSU game! It was so awesome finding a ticket.

The weather lately has been absolutely amazing…sunny and cold, just the way I like it.

My first semester of college is almost over. That’s sorta scary…I’m getting mostly good grades, some not as good as I’d like, but God is good.

I can’t wait for Christmas break…my favorite time of year is almost here!

Tonight was absolutely amazing.

Short poem comin’ right up:

Two stars shooting through the blackness,
looping ’round the universe
shining bright with awesome power
and twinkling down upon
our world.

  1. Open up the music player on your computer.
  2. Set it to play your entire music collection.
  3. Hit the shuffle command.
  4. Tell us the title of the next 20 songs that show up (with their musicians), no matter how embarrassing. That’s right, no skipping that Carpenters tune that will totally destroy your hip credibility. It’s time for total musical honesty.
  5. If you get the same artist twice, you may skip the second (or third, or etc.) occurrences. You don’t have to, but since randomness could mean you end up with a list of twenty songs with five artists, you can if you’d like.
  6. Led Zeppelin – Stairway to Heaven
  7. Pink Martini – Let’s Never Stop Falling in Love
  8. The Allman Brothers Band – Hoochie Coochie Man
  9. Lost Prophets – Ride
  10. Andrew Lloyd Webber – Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again
  11. John Williams(Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade Soundtrack) – X Marks the Spot
  12. Halo Soundtrack – Remembrance
  13. Anberlin – The Runaways
  14. Credence Clearwater Revival – Who’ll Stop the Rain
  15. The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy Original Soundtrack – Blast Off
  16. Republic Commando Soundtrack – Com Interference
  17. Cowboy Beebop Soundtrack – Digging My Potato
  18. Swingle Singers – Mission Impossible Theme
  19. Billy Joel – Goodnight Saigon
  20. Green Day – Stuck With Me
  21. James Horner(Braveheart Soundtrack) – Making Plans/Gathering the Clans
  22. Gladiator Soundtrack – The Emperor is Dead
  23. John Philip Sousa – The Thunderer
  24. Styx – Boat on the River
  25. Trans-Siberian Orchestra – God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen

Wow, today was a hectic day…

Woke up at 8:32, so had get up and run to my 8:30 International relations class(in which I had a quiz)…thankfully, he was just handing out the quizzes when I got there. I think I did awesome on that quiz, missing two at the most, but we convinced him that one of the questions was faulty, so I should get an A. Calculus test was not so fun – even though I studied a lot, it seemed a lot harder than the homework questions. The physics test was bad. Very bad. Sometimes I don’t think I’m cut out for engineering, if I can’t even do well in Physics 1…Well, I have the rest of this semester to think about my major…

After that, wrote my lab report(which I didn’t write until today because I was too busy studying over the weekend) and then went to the last five minutes of chem lecture. Hung out at the Reitz with people, then dinner.

After dinner, total awesomeness took place. Chris and another guy re-enacted the last duel from Episode III, between Obi-Wan and Anakin…both wearing Jedi robes(Chris with his black glove), they fought down the lawn, through the laundromat, through various halls, in the study center, and finally by the mud pit, where Chris got his legs cut out from under him. Very awesome to see. And Sweeney rocked out as Padme – she definitely should have been casted for the part.

Now, I’ll probably get ready for bed…first time in a few days I’m getting to bed early.

This week will go by so slowly..but this weekend, I’ll be in Tampa!

Red sun rises
Birds sing
grass waves
in the breeze
and the armies
march.

Yellow sun hangs
trees stand proud
deers drink
from cool waters
and the armies
draw near.

Nature
stands still
and watches its demise.

Man
against man
and brother
against brother
as blood runs
freely, deeply.

Red sun falls
nightingales wail,
iron scent
of blood draws
the vultures
closer, closer.

Hope you all enjoyed that, as depressing as it may have been. Some inspiration came from Red Badge of Courage.

So many things have happened in the past week.

In less than 14 hours, I will have all my exams and quizzes done for the week. Three tomorrow morning…so tonight is quite stressful. But somehow, as the night goes on, I become more calm. This weekend has been such a rollercoaster, and now it’s almost over…next weekend I’ll be with my family. Looking forward to that. 🙂

To my friends who have always been there for me…thank you. I don’t know what I would do without you.
